Saint-Nicolas Island: what you need to know<\/h2>\n

15 km off the coast of Fouesnant, in South Finist\u00e8re, in Brittany, more precisely in the Bay of Biscay, embark for a day to discover the Gl\u00e9nan archipelago which is made up of 9 main islands and other small islets !<\/p>\n

Saint-Nicolas Island, the main island and jewel of the archipelago, covers 14 hectares. It offers both unmissable landscapes worthy of the most beautiful paradise islands on earth, but also a rich flora. Moreover, the island is home to one of the smallest nature reserves in France with the aim of protecting a unique and rare flower: the Gl\u00e9nan narcissus.<\/p>\n

Some are completely deserted and little frequented, while others contain a few remains such as the semaphore on Penfret Island or the fortress on Loch Island.<\/p>\n

If you are a nature lover, you will be pleasantly delighted to observe new species of birds and plants. But the most interesting part of this getaway is discovering this protected area called The Room. It is located between the islands of Saint-Nicolas, Dr\u00e9nnec, Bananec and Cigogne.<\/p>\n
