Not far from the banks of the B\u00e9lon, in the hamlet of Lanneguy, the current Saint-L\u00e9ger chapel has stood in the shape of a Latin cross since around 1850. It was erected to replace the two chapels nearby, one of which has the same name and the other which is Notre-Dame-de-Gr\u00e2ces.<\/p>\n
When visiting the place, we notice the presence of canes and wax dolls representing children’s legs. This is in reference to Saint-L\u00e9ger who was generally invoked to relieve leg pain and to help children who were late in learning to walk.<\/p>\n
Riec-sur-Belon formerly depended on the Diocese of Cornouaille, hence its religious aspect and the existence of numerous chapels throughout the commune.<\/p>\n
